Tallinn’s open data include machine-readable and unrestricted data intended for free use. As of June 2020, the Tallinn open data catalog contains nearly 40 databases, based on Tallinn local government information systems. In the context of spatial mobility research, potentially relevant databases include, e.g.:
- public transport data of Tallinn and Harju County (e.g., public transport information, public transport stops and routes, real-time locations of public transport vehicles);
- operational information on street closures and road maintenance works (e.g., road maintenance works taking place today, street closures today and in the future);
- data on thematic and detailed plans (e.g., Tallinn Planning Register);
- information about public events permits (e.g., public events permits, sports events permits).
The earliest data in the Tallinn open data catalog date from 2016. Most data is updated in real time.
